As a result of Widler Architectural’s expertise in renovations, this quaint one-story bungalow was given a complete overhaul. Now measuring 3,200 square feet, the only elements remaining from the original structure are the first-floor frame and brick shell. The residence now boasts four naturally lit bedrooms and four bathrooms. Having moved three bedrooms to the second floor, the home’s main level was rendered for additional functionality. An elegant dining room, which was repositioned to the front to house, now sits adjacent to a formal living room.

At the rear of the home, a more casual layout allows for daily living. The revised space includes a mudroom, family room, and an eat-in kitchen with a wet bar and a butler’s pantry. Additionally, a renovated basement comprises an office, children’s art room, a bathroom complete with a steam shower and a recreation room. By utilizing simple, clean lines, Widler preserved the home’s prairie style, while updating the home’s layout and functionality inspired modern living.
